TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian women's national team is ready to give their best performance against Vietnam in the semifinal match of the SEA Games 2025 at the IPE Chonburi Stadium, Thailand, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at 16.00 WIB (Western Indonesian Time). The match will be broadcast live by RCTI and Vision+.

The captain of the Indonesian women's national team, Gea Yumanda, is delighted to lead her teammates to the semifinal stage in this Southeast Asian sporting event. "This is the first time for Indonesia," said Gea in a press conference ahead of the match on Saturday, December 13, 2025, as quoted from Kita Garuda.

Garuda Pertiwi advanced to the semifinals as the runner-up of Group A, accompanying the host team Thailand, who topped the group. Garuda Pertiwi defeated Singapore with a score of 3-1 after losing 0-8 to Thailand in the group stage.

Group A was only occupied by three teams after Cambodia withdrew from participating in the SEA Games in Thailand due to security reasons. Therefore, Indonesia, after playing two matches earlier, only secured their spot in the final four after Singapore lost 0-2 to Thailand in their second match.

On the other hand, Vietnam, their upcoming opponent, advanced to the semifinals as the champion of Group B with six points from three matches. They defeated Malaysia 7-0 and Myanmar 2-0, with one defeat against the Philippines 0-1 during the group stage.

Gea stated that the Indonesian women's national team is not afraid to face Vietnam. "Perhaps we have a slight advantage as we have a recovery period of four to five days," she said.

The squad led by Akira Higashiyama played their last group stage match on December 7, facing Singapore. Meanwhile, Vietnam played their last match in Group B against Myanmar last Thursday.

Gea emphasized that the match against Vietnam is very important for her team. "We know Vietnam is a very strong team and the last time Indonesia faced them, the result was not satisfactory. But don't worry, this team is different from before, both from the coaching side and the players," she said.

"I hope that tomorrow (today) we can perform at our best, and I also hope for the best for my team," said the 19-year-old player born in Batam.

The coach of the Indonesian women's national team, Akira Higashiyama, said that their biggest opponent is actually themselves. The Japanese tactician emphasized that the important factor for his squad during the SEA Games 2025 is their spirit.

"The spirit of Indonesia will make us stronger, and I hope we can win the match tomorrow (today)," said Akira, as quoted from the official Kita Garuda page, on Sunday, December 14, 2025.

"We came here to make history, so we need the support of the entire Indonesian community. I know there are many football supporters in Indonesia," he said.

In the other semifinal match, Thailand will face the Philippines. This match is scheduled to take place at the Chonburi Stadium on Sunday at 18.30 WIB.
