TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta is anticipated to experience light rain today, December 12, 2025. This precipitation is expected to be widespread across mainland Jakarta, while the Thousand Islands (Kepulauan Seribu) are forecasted to remain cloudy throughout the day.
According to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the highest daily maximum air temperature will reach 33 degrees Celsius in South and East Jakarta. East Jakarta is also expected to hit the maximum humidity level of 94 percent.
Weather in Greater Jakarta Areas
Today's weather in the surrounding areas of Jakarta (Jabodetabek) is predicted to vary.
Several locations, as mentioned by the BMKG, are expected to remain cloudy, notably Bogor City, Tangerang City, and Tangerang Regency. Conversely, other regions face the possibility of light rain, including Depok City, South Tangerang City, Bekasi City, and Bogor Regency.
Bekasi Regency is projected to experience rainfall with greater intensity compared to other areas within Jabodetabek today. The BMKG estimates this region will receive moderate-intensity rain.
Tropical Cyclone Assessment
In general, the BMKG notes that a potential tropical cyclone will impact the weather in the southern regions of Indonesia over the coming week. Despite this regional weather phenomenon, Jakarta is currently not considered at risk of heavy rain or severe impacts.
