TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Religious Affairs has organized a mass wedding program for 100 prospective couples across the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) regions. The event is scheduled to take place on June 28, 2025, at the Ministry’s office on Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta.
Abu Rokhmad, Director General of Islamic Community Guidance at the Ministry, announced that registration will remain open until June 20, 2025. Interested couples can register through the Religious Affairs Office (KUA) in their respective areas. Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar is expected to attend the ceremony in person.
"We want to provide easy access for the community to hold a valid marriage without being burdened with high costs," said Rokhmad, as quoted in an official statement from the Ministry.
He explained that all couples must complete administrative requirements in accordance with Government Regulation No. 30 of 2024 on Marriage Registration. This applies to all participants, regardless of gender.
Couples who are members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) or National Police (Polri), those who are divorced or widowed, or whose partners have passed away, must submit additional documentation. Marriage registration can be done directly at the KUA or online via the Marriage Management Information System (Simkah).
Those choosing to marry outside their district of residence must obtain a marriage recommendation letter from their original KUA. Registration must be completed no later than 10 working days before the ceremony.
In addition to submitting documents, all participants are required to attend pre-marital counseling sessions prior to the wedding.
The required documents for registration include:
Marriage introduction letter from the village or urban office where the bride or groom resides
Copy of birth certificate
Copy of identity card (KTP)
Copy of family card (KK)
Marriage recommendation letter from the original KUA (if marrying outside the district)
Health certificate from a medical facility
Written approval from the bride/groom
Parental or guardian consent for those under 21
Court-issued marriage dispensation for those under 19 on the wedding day
Permission letter from a superior officer for TNI/Polri members
