TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Marco Bezzecchi clinched the main race at MotoGP 2025 British GP on the Silverstone Circuit, Sunday, May 25. The Aprilia Factory rider benefited from Fabio Quartararo's trouble while leading the race.
Bezzecchi clocked in at 38 minutes 16.037 seconds. The Italian rider was 4.066 seconds ahead of Johann Zarco, the Honda LCR rider who finished second. Marc Marquez, from Ducati Lenovo, claimed third place. Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Ducati) and Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati) completed the top five.
The race was filled with a lot of drama. Both Marc Marquez and his brother, Alex Marquez, fell in the first lap and failed to proceed in the race. However, they were fortunate as the red flag was raised before the third lap due to oil left on the track after Franco Morbidelli and Aleix Espargaro's collision.
Since the first three laps had not been completed, according to the regulations, the race was restarted from the beginning. All riders were allowed to participate, including the Marquez brothers who had already fallen. The race, which was originally scheduled for 20 laps, was reduced to 19.
In this race, Fabio Quartararo briefly led. However, seven laps before the finish, his bike encountered problems, causing him unable to continue the race. Bezzecchi, who was behind him, immediately took the lead.
He then easily managed his advantage over Johann Zarco from Honda to secure his first victory for Aprilia. Previously, his best achievement this season was a fourth-place finish in the sprint race the day before.
