The 2027 event will also come as the Pokemon franchise introduces new content and features, giving fans plenty to anticipate beyond the championship itself.

1. Singapore Will Host the World Championships for the First Time
Singapore will host the Pokemon World Championships for the first time in 2027.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Pokemon World Championships in San Francisco on Sunday, August 30, local time.
The event will give Pokemon fans in Singapore and the wider Southeast Asian region a chance to experience the franchise's biggest competitive tournament.
2. The Tournament Will Take Place in August 2027
The Pokemon World Championships will be held from August 13 to 15, 2027.
The main event will take place at Singapore Expo, while the tournament's Championship Sunday will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

3. The World's Top Pokemon Players Will Compete
The Pokemon World Championships represents the highest level of competitive Pokemon play.
Players from around the world will compete for the title of World Champion, as well as prizes and other rewards.
