TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Suahasil Nazara as Minister of Finance, replacing Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, during a ceremony at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday.
Suahasil was inaugurated as the new Minister of Finance, as stipulated in Presidential Decree Number 97P of 2026 regarding the Dismissal and Appointment of the Minister of Finance of the Red and White Cabinet for the remainder of the 2024–2029 term, issued on September 14, 2026, by President Prabowo Subianto.
"That I shall be loyal to the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia and shall faithfully implement all laws and regulations in the utmost earnestness, in fulfillment of my duty to the nation and the state," said the Finance Minister as he pronounced the oath, led by President Prabowo, as quoted by ANTARA.
Following the oath-taking, Suahasil signed the official inauguration record in the presence of President Prabowo, who subsequently also signed the document.
Subsequently, President Prabowo offered his congratulations to Suahasil and his family. State officials attending today's inauguration ceremony also offered their congratulations.
Several coordinating ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, in addition to President Prabowo and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, attended the inauguration.
Suahasil is the third Finance Minister in President Prabowo Subianto's administration. The previous Finance Minister, Purbaya, was sworn in on September 8, 2025, to replace Sri Mulyani.
