This sad news was confirmed by the New York Police and his manager, Greg Edwards. Greene's death marks the end of a long journey for a character actor who left a strong impression through his iconic antagonistic roles on the big screen in the 1990s.

Cause of Peter Greene's Death Yet to be Revealed

As reported by the New York Post, Peter Greene was found dead in his apartment in the Lower East Side of Manhattan at around 3:25 PM local time. Officers who arrived at the scene immediately examined him and declared that Greene had passed away at the scene. As of now, the cause of death has not been disclosed and is awaiting examination results by the medical authorities.

According to reports cited by Entertainment Weekly, Greg Edwards, Greene's manager, stated that he had spoken with Greene a few days before the incident. Edwards and the police also said that there were no indications of foul play in Greene's death.

Peter Greene's Career in Hollywood

According to Entertainment Weekly, Greene was born in Montclair, New Jersey, on October 8, 1965. He began acting in his mid-20s. Greene made his screen debut in the TV series Hardball (1990). He made his feature film debut in the 1992 crime drama Laws of Gravity, in which he starred alongside Edie Falco. His career continued in 1993 with Judgment Night and Clean, Shaven.

Greene's name gained wider recognition in 1994 through two iconic antagonistic roles: Zed in Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino and Dorian Tyrell in The Mask. After that, he appeared in dozens of films across genres, including The Usual Suspects, Blue Streak, Training Day, and The Bounty Hunter. Throughout his career, Greene also starred in various television series and appeared in several popular TV productions.

Edwards mentioned that although Greene was notoriously difficult to work with, He was a perfectionist who always gave his all to every role, no matter how small. According to his manager, Greene's portrayal as the cruel gangster Dorian Tyrell alongside Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz in The Mask was his best.

Next January, Greene was scheduled to appear in an independent thriller film titled Mascots alongside Mickey Rourke. He notified the film's writer-director, Kerry Mondragon, of Greene's death, who immediately shed tears upon hearing the news. "Truly one of the great actors of our generation. His heart was as big as there was. I'm going to miss him. He was a great friend," Edwards told the New York Post.
