The details noted 407 fatalities in Aceh, 240 in West Sumatra, and 343 in North Sumatra. BNPB reported 969 fatalities the previous day, on December 10.

The number of missing persons across the three provinces decreased slightly from 262 to 222. The highest number of missing persons was in North Sumatra with 98, followed by 31 in Aceh, and 93 in West Sumatra.

The national search and rescue agency, Basarnas, also reported the number of flood-related deaths in Sumatra. On Monday, Basarnas reported a higher death toll at 974 compared to BNPB, caused by differences in the identification methods of the bodies.

Basarnas head Air Marshal TNI Mohammad Syafii, said in a working meeting with DPR on Monday that the search for victims in the second week after the disaster was challenging. The bodies of the missing victims were difficult to identify due to changes in their physical structures.
