1. Indonesian Diaspora Says Overseas Aid for Sumatra Disaster Is Being Taxed
Members of the Indonesian diaspora in Singapore have voiced frustration over what they describe as restrictive rules on delivering aid to victims of the devastating Sumatra floods.
One diaspora member, Fika, said humanitarian assistance sent from abroad is treated as taxable imported goods unless the government declares the disaster a national emergency.
The concern was raised in a post on her Instagram account, @ffawzia07. “If donations from the diaspora are sent while the Sumatra floods have not been declared a national disaster, the aid will be taxed,” she wrote on Thursday, December 11, 2025.
2. SEA Games 2025 Medal Standings Day 4: Indonesia Holds Third Place
Indonesia remained in third place in the provisional medal standings at the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games as of the fourth day of competition on Friday, December 12. The Indonesian contingent trailed Vietnam, which sat in second place, by four gold medals.
On Friday alone, Indonesia added 16 medals—seven gold, five silver, and four bronze—boosting its overall tally to 72 medals. According to Antara, the Red and White contingent had collected 20 gold medals, 28 silver medals, and 24 bronze medals by the end of the fourth day.
Host nation Thailand continued to dominate the medal table, widening its lead with 66 gold medals, 43 silver medals, and 28 bronze medals. Vietnam followed in second place with 24 gold medals, 17 silver medals, and 43 bronze medals, maintaining a narrow gap over Indonesia.
3. Music Bank Global Festival 2025 Lineup: Stray Kids, ITZY, Hearts2Hearts, and More
