The University of Indonesia (UI) has secured the 191st position globally according to the Quacquarelli Symonds World University Rankings (QS WUR) 2027. The London-based higher education analysis institution released its latest university rankings on June 18, 2026.
In the latest list, UI stands as the sole Indonesian university to break into the global top 200. This achievement cements UI as the highest-ranked university in Indonesia according to QS, with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) following closely behind at 206th place.

2. UI Student Journalists Report Harassment After Protest Coverage
Several student journalists from Pers Suara Mahasiswa (SUMA) at the University of Indonesia (UI) were reportedly being harassed by unidentified individuals after covering student protests on Friday, June 12, 2026. The incident occurred amidst a series of intimidation and digital attacks they have been receiving since publishing an opinion piece titled "Testing the Human Rights Principle in Pride Month" on June 10, 2026.
The Autonomous Body of Pers Suara Mahasiswa UI stated that in recent days, various forms of violence and intimidation, both in digital space and everyday life, have become increasingly massive. The attacks include the dissemination of personal data or doxing, including home addresses and personal phone numbers.

3. JCI, Rupiah Weaken Ahead of MSCI Decision
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) weakened by 0.25 percent to 6,101 on Tuesday afternoon, June 23, 2026. A total of 282 stocks rose, 373 fell, and 160 remained unchanged. The market capitalization recorded Rp 10.711 trillion today.
The LQ45 index also weakened by 0.13 percent. A research team from Pilarmas Investindo Sekuritas stated that the dominant stocks contributing to the index's rise included KLBF, MBMA, BRPT, DEWA, and CUAN. Meanwhile, the stocks leading the decline included INCO, PTBA, MDKA, BBTN, and MEDC.
