TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The second position in the medal standings of the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand seems to belong to the Indonesian contingent. On the eve of the closing day, Indonesian athletes continue to dominate with a five-medal lead over Vietnam.
On Friday, December 19, 2025, which marked the 11th day of the SEA Games, Indonesian athletes added 11 gold medals. As reported by Antara, on Friday, the triathlon event secured Indonesia's first gold medals after Martina Ayu Pratiwi claimed first place in the women's individual category.
In the same event, Rashif Amila Yaqin brought glory to Indonesia after delivering the best performance in the men's individual category. In total, the triathlon contributed two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal.
In the dragon boat event, the Indonesian team dominated the 500-meter small boat category. In the mixed standard boat event over 500 meters, the Indonesian team once again achieved success by clinching gold.
In tennis, Aldila Sutjiadi and Janice Tjen raised the Indonesian flag on the highest podium after excelling in the women's doubles. In equestrian show jumping, Brayen Nathan Brata secured gold after delivering the best performance in the individual category.
The Indonesian hockey team also successfully secured gold after a dramatic final against the host nation, Thailand. Gold was also obtained in the indoor hockey event.
The final gold was secured on Friday in futsal after the Indonesian national team defeated the host, Thailand, with a score of 6-1 in the final match.
Currently, the Indonesian team holds the second position in the temporary standings, with a total of 331 medals, comprising 91 gold, 111 silver, and 129 bronze medals.
With the additional 11 gold medals, Indonesia maintains the second position in the standings, accumulating a total of 91 gold, 111 silver, and 129 bronze medals. Indonesia remains behind Thailand, which has gathered 232 gold, 154 silver, and 106 bronze medals. Meanwhile, Vietnam is trailing Indonesia with 86 gold, 79 silver, and 110 bronze medals.
Indonesia's position is confirmed to remain in second place in the standings. On the last day and the closing day of the 2025 SEA Games, Saturday, only four more gold medals will be up for grabs. Indonesia already holds a five-gold lead over Vietnam.
