TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - As people's mobility increases during Ramadan to meet family and friends, passenger advocacy organization AirAdvisor has released a list of the 10 best airlines for Ramadan travelers in 2026. This assessment was determined by considering punctuality, delay management, especially on night flights, and the availability of halal-compliant services on board.
Oman Air took first place, achieving the highest score of 9.2 out of 10. The airline reportedly recorded a very low delay rate of only 0.43 percent, and during the Ramadan evaluation period, there were no delays on even night flights. In addition to operational performance, Oman Air was also assessed for its consistent provision of guaranteed halal food. Consistent service, especially in the hours leading up to breaking the fast, was also a factor in its top spot.
Garuda Indonesia in Second Place
Below Oman Air, Garuda Indonesia ranked second with a score of 8.8/10. This Indonesian national airline is considered one of the best choices for Ramadan travel due to its balanced performance in punctuality, night delay management, and easy access to halal-compliant food on board. Furthermore, a high passenger rating of 4 out of 5 stars also boosted Garuda Indonesia's final score in the assessment.
Etihad Airways came in third with a score of 8.45/10. The airline recorded a delay rate of 0.98 percent and was deemed consistent in providing special Ramadan meal services, making it a reliable choice for fasting passengers.
Special Services During Ramadan
In this opportunity, AirAdvisor evaluated 15 international airlines operating in countries with Muslim-majority populations. AirAdvisor founder Anton Radchenko emphasized that traveling during Ramadan presents its own challenges. "Ramadan travel adds complexity to flights, especially on long-haul routes," he said, as quoted by the Oman Observer on February 14, 2026.
He added that the best-performing airlines are those that anticipate the needs of fasting passengers, rather than simply treating them as special requests. Some airlines even offer special services during Ramadan, such as Qatar Airways, which provides iftar and suhoor meal packages with clear serving times on its long-haul flight network.
Saudia is also known for its extensive Ramadan service coverage and support system for fasting passengers. Meanwhile, Etihad Airways also offers complimentary Ramadan meals on some long-haul routes.
While some other airlines don't automatically offer special iftar and suhoor menus, they still accommodate special meal requests if submitted 48 to 72 hours before departure.
Traveling during Ramadan requires more careful planning than during normal times. The airline's punctuality is crucial, especially for passengers who want to break their fast or eat suhoor on schedule. Therefore, prospective passengers are advised to review the airline's track record of punctuality and ensure the availability of Ramadan services before purchasing tickets, ensuring a comfortable journey and optimal fasting.
