TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Danantara Indonesia CEO Rosan Roeslani has confirmed that Luke Thomas Mahony has been appointed as the President Director of PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (DSI), a new government entity tasked with managing the export of a range of commodities.
"For now, it's Luke Thomas," Rosan said after meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Thursday, May 21, 2026, as reported by Antara.
Luke Thomas Mahony is an Australian citizen who previously served as Director of PT Vale Indonesia.
When asked about the official announcement of the directorate, Rosan, who also serves as the Minister of Investment and Industrial Estate, stated that the current process involves strengthening the team that will lead PT DSI. The announcement will be made once the entire directorate has been determined.
"We will consider his track record and clear capabilities, similar to how we formed Danantara first," he added.
Regarding the establishment of PT DSI, he mentioned that they have been gathering input and conducting socialization with associations of palm oil and ferroalloy commodity businessmen regarding the formation.
"We had a meeting earlier, and we want to focus on this first, gathering input. In the afternoon, we will also meet with all the associations, Kadin, Apindo, palm oil associations, APBI, and coal, all of them. We will also conduct socialization, starting at 4 in the afternoon," said Rosan.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto announced during a Plenary Session of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) at the Nusantara Building in Parliament Complex, Jakarta, yesterday, that the government has issued a Government Regulation on the Governance of Natural Resource Commodity Exports.
Prabowo mentioned that this regulation will designate state-owned enterprises (SOEs) as the sole exporters of palm oil, coal, and ferroalloys.
"The sale of all our natural resources, starting with palm oil, coal, and ferroalloy, is mandatory to be conducted through the state-owned enterprises appointed by the Republic of Indonesia Government as the sole exporter," Prabowo stated.
