As Marca reported, Runyon’s family confirmed that she passed away after a six-month battle with cancer. In a statement, they reflected on her final moments and the legacy she leaves behind.

Posting a photo of them together on Facebook, Murphy wrote, “So sad to share that my friend Jennifer Runyon Corman has passed away after a brief battle with cancer. Some people you just know you’ll be friends with before you even meet. She was a special lady. I’ll miss you Jenn. My thoughts are with your family and beautiful children.”

Born in Chicago, Runyon began her acting career in the 1980 film To All a Good Night. She later appeared in the long-running soap opera Another World before gaining wider recognition with her role in Ghostbusters in 1984.
