TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) has officially merged its three downstream subsidiaries into a downstream subholding. The three subsidiaries are PT Pertamina Patra Niaga (PPN), PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI), and the business segment of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS).

Pertamina President Director Simon Aloysius Mantiri is confident that the integration of refinery, distribution, logistics, and marketing work systems will eliminate redundancy and accelerate service delivery. "And provide a reliable energy supply from Sabang to Merauke," he said in an official statement in Jakarta on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He explained that the integration aims to improve operational efficiency, strengthen the certainty of the national energy supply, and enhance Pertamina's competitiveness. According to Simon, an integrated system will result in faster coordination between functions, more effective decision-making, and more optimal investment.

Through this Downstream Subholding, Pertamina is also targeting transformation across its business lines, particularly those related to improving public services. This integration is also believed to not disrupt services to the public, business partners, and employees. Instead, the synergy is expected to successfully provide increasingly reliable energy for the community.

This target can be realized through increased cross-divisional collaboration and a greater impact on the nation and future generations, in line with the spirit of Energizing Indonesia. "Amidst geopolitical changes, demands for energy transition, and increasingly fierce global competition, Indonesia needs a Pertamina that is agile, strong, and integrated," said Simon.

PT Pertamina (Persero) Vice President of Corporate Communication, Muhammad Baron, explained that this step demonstrates Pertamina's commitment to implementing the Astacita (Astacita) goal of energy self-sufficiency. "The downstream business integration, effective February 1, 2026, is not simply an organizational change, but an effort to strengthen the foundation to make Pertamina a pillar of the nation in energy supply," Baron said.

With more efficient and integrated business processes, he continued, Pertamina ensures that energy services to the Indonesian people are increasingly optimal and resilient in facing global challenges.
