TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto summoned several economic ministers and agency heads to the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
At least four ministers were called by Prabowo today, including Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa; Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia; Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan; and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
Purbaya said he intended to discuss fiscal stability in this meeting, as he believed Indonesia's economy remained good despite the rupiah's recent depreciation. The minister expressed his confidence that the rupiah exchange rate is under control because the country's economic foundation is in good condition.
Meanwhile, Bahlil mentioned that the meeting concerned the preparation for Eid al-Fitr. "The availability of food, fuel, and also how to respond to the latest developments related to tensions in the Middle East," he said upon his arrival at the Palace.
On the other hand, Brian Yuliarto mentioned that he sought to discuss research results on food and energy resilience with President Prabowo. "These are two things that are affected by the global geopolitical situation," he said.
Brian hopes that universities in the country can produce research on food and energy resilience. He wants these research activities to be expedited.
In addition to the ministers, Prabowo also summoned other agency heads. Among them are Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo and the Head of the Bureau of Development Control and Special Investigation or Bappisus Aries Marsudiyanto.
According to Aries, the meeting with Prabowo would also discuss the situation in the Middle East. He said he would like to discuss the escalation of war between the United States and Israel against Iran and its impact on the domestic situation.
Aries believed that Indonesia is ready to face these obstacles. "Food is all available. No need to worry about energy and fuel as well since everything is sufficiently stocked," said Arief at the Presidential Palace.
