TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto summoned 9 ministers to Hambalang, Bogor, West Java. The ministers attended a meeting with Prabowo at the President's private residence.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting took place on Monday, March 9, 2026. "President Prabowo Subianto received several Red and White Cabinet ministers in Hambalang to discuss national strategic steps and preparations for the upcoming holidays," said Teddy in a written statement.
According to Teddy, there are two main discussion agendas in this meeting. First, he said, is to discuss self-sufficiency progress. Prabowo evaluated food self-sufficiency and energy self-sufficiency programs as well as oil with the ministers.
Meanwhile, the second discussion is related to preparations for Eid al-Fitr. "Ensuring the availability of food supplies and LPG ahead of Eid al-Fitr," said Teddy.
At least nine ministers attended the meeting in Hambalang last Monday. They are Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Agriculture Minister Amran Sulaiman.
In addition, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono; Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid; Minister of Research and Technology Higher Education Brian Yuliarto; Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin; and State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi were present.
In addition to the ministers, the meeting was attended by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya and Indonesian National Armed Forces Commander General Agus Subiyanto.
On Sunday, March 8, 2026, President Prabowo also held a meeting at his residence in Hambalang. Prabowo led five meetings at his private residence over the weekend.
During these five meetings, Prabowo asked the ministers to report on strategic issues at home and abroad. Each meeting, he said, had different topics.
The first meeting discussed cooperation in building ten new campuses in the country. While the second meeting discussed the development of existing universities in Indonesia.
The third meeting discussed the situation in the Middle East. The region is in turmoil following the US and Israel's military attacks on Iran, which killed several Gulf state leaders.
The fourth meeting discussed the development of Palestinian students studying at the Defense University. While the last meeting discussed security and smooth transportation for the annual exodus ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
