TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian state-owned mining companies Aneka Tambang (Antam) and Bukit Asam have officially changed their corporate status to a Perseroan, a state-owned limited company. The companies are now formally named PT Aneka Tambang (Persero) Tbk and PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk.
According to Wisnu Danandi Haryanto, Corporate Secretary Division Head of Antam, the change follows Law Number 16 of 2025, which amends Law Number 19 of 2003 governing state-owned enterprises (BUMN).
“The change of the company's name is carried out to comply with the provisions of Article 1, Verse 1 of the Law on State-Owned Enterprises,” said Wisnu.
The announcement was made through the Indonesia Stock Exchange on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
The amendment to Antam’s Articles of Association was formalized in the Deed of Statement of the Meeting Decision for the name change and other updates, recorded under Number 54 on January 13, 2026. It subsequently received approval from the Minister of Law through Decision Number AHU-0008546.AH.01.02.YEAR 2026, dated February 13, 2026.
Wisnu confirmed that the name change will not affect the company’s operations or finances.
Similarly, Eko Prayitno, Corporate Secretary Division Head of Bukit Asam, stated that the company’s name change also aligns with the latest law on state-owned enterprises.
Bukit Asam’s amendment was formalized in the Deed of Statement of the Meeting Decision under Number 68 on January 14, 2026, and approved by the Minister of Law through Decision Number AHU-0008473.AH.01.02.YEAR 2026, also dated February 13, 2026.
Eko emphasized, “There will be no impact on the company's operations, finances, or business sustainability,” in the disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
The name changes mark a legal formalization of the companies’ status as Perseroan, while maintaining their ongoing operations and strategic business activities.
