TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The humanitarian organization Aqsa Working Group (AWG) urged the international community and state leaders to unite to stop the US-Israeli military aggression against Iran and all countries in the world, including Palestine.
"All parties are responsible for striving for sustainable peace, respecting national sovereignty, and stopping aggressive practices that undermine the global order," said AWG Presidium Chairman Muhammad Anshorullah in a press release on Sunday (March 1).
He said the AWG condemns the US-Israeli military attack on Iran as a gross violation of the UN Charter and international law.
"This kind of military action cannot be justified in a global order based on law," he said.
According to Anshorullah, the current situation in the Middle East cannot be separated from the context of occupation and genocide in Palestine. Iran, he said, is one of the few Muslim countries that consistently and firmly supports the Palestinian people's struggle and rejects foreign intervention.
He added that the current tensions in the region are being exploited by the US and Israel to destabilize security.
"The Israeli Zionists have the potential to increasingly freely carry out various repressive actions in Palestine," he said in an AWG press release.
The humanitarian organization reiterated the need for Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to immediately remove Indonesia from the Board of Peace (BoP) formed by US President Donald Trump.
The US-Israeli attack on a sovereign country like Iran, said Anshorullah, further proves that the forum has failed to maintain global stability, and that Trump has even been the main actor in the attack on Iran.
According to him, Saturday's attack on Iran was the first concrete manifestation of the BoP and evidence that the forum is not an instrument of peace, but rather of imperialism.
"This crime also emphasizes that the goal of the BoP is not to achieve Palestinian independence," he said.
Instead, Anshorullah said, the attack strengthens Israel's occupation of Palestine and the Al-Aqsa Mosque to establish a Greater Israel.
"Therefore, the BoP is increasingly absurd and has lost its moral and legal legitimacy," he said.
He stated that the chaos and intervention carried out by hegemonic powers in various parts of the world, including Iran, Venezuela, and other regions, are a coordinated effort to maintain their hegemony and perpetuate the occupation of Palestine, particularly against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the oppressed Palestinian people.
"These actions not only violate international law but also perpetuate the suffering of innocent people," said Ansarullah.
He also regretted the actions of several Arab and Gulf countries, directly or indirectly, that have facilitated the US-Israeli military attacks.
"The unity of the Ummah, Islamic solidarity, and the pursuit of true peace are far more important and urgent than actions that escalate the conflict and undermine regional stability," he said.
He also expressed condolences for the passing of Iranian citizens and their leader, Ali Khamenei.
