BMKG Predicts Afternoon Rain Across Jakarta and Surrounding Areas

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) predicts that the Jakarta area and its surroundings will be showered with rain later this afternoon, Thursday, May 21, 2026. The air humidity in the metropolitan area throughout the day ranges from 66 to 96 percent.

Referring to the latest weather forecast from BMKG, the weather in Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta Area) is still likely to be partly cloudy on early Thursday morning until this morning. There is a potential for light rain in parts of North Jakarta, the Thousand Islands, and Tangerang Regency.

During the morning towards midday, the weather in some locations is still cloudy, with some areas having thick clouds. The potential for light rain still exists in parts of North Jakarta and the Thousand Islands.

Meanwhile, in the afternoon until 7:00 PM, BMKG predicts the potential for rain in parts of West Jakarta, East Jakarta, South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, and throughout Tangerang. There is also a possibility of moderate-intensity rain in South Tangerang, Bogor Regency and City, and all of Bekasi.

The air temperature in almost all of Jabodetabek ranges from 26-32 degrees Celsius. Only the Bogor area has slightly lower temperatures, around 24-30 degrees Celsius. At that time, the wind is likely to blow from west to northeast. In some areas, the wind speed can reach 30 kilometers per hour.
