TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division (JNT/Regional Nusantara) recorded 34,384 vehicles passing through the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi Toll Road (MKTT) during Indonesia's Easter holiday in 2026.
General Director of JNT Rivan A Purwanto stated that the number of vehicles increased by 13.38 percent compared to normal conditions. "The traffic volume was calculated from April 2 to 3, 2026," he said in an official statement received in Medan on Saturday, April 4, 2026, as reported by Antara.
Rivan mentioned that out of the total traffic volume, 10,734 vehicles entered from the Kualanamu Gate from Kualanamu Airport. Meanwhile, the vehicles heading to Kualanamu Airport were recorded at 10,429 vehicles through the Kualanamu Toll Gate.
"Vehicles coming from Kualanamu Airport increased by 12.32 percent and those heading to Kualanamu Airport increased by 14.98 percent," he said.
Overall, he stated that the traffic volume across four toll sections of Regional Nusantara during the same period also experienced an increase, with a total of 376,946 vehicles.
During the holiday season, he emphasized that the company made various preparations to ensure the safety and comfort of toll road users.
He stated that the company added operational toll booths to expedite transactions, provided mobile readers, and added electronic money top-up points to facilitate road users.
Furthermore, personnel were deployed to identify vulnerable security locations and maintain public order, set up posts, and prepare the 100 percent functionality of the Sisinfokom facilities, especially the closed circuit television (CCTV) function in toll gate lanes and queues.
Jasa Marga urged toll road users to anticipate the long holiday travel period during the religious celebration properly.
Before entering the toll road, he said, ensure that the vehicle and the driver are in prime condition, ensure sufficient fuel and electronic money balance, and comply with the signs and directions of field officers.
