TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. announced the export of 35,000 pickup units for PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara this year. Nalinikanth Gollagunta, Chief Executive Officer of the Automotive Division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., stated that this shipment is a tangible sign of its partnership, which supports a reliable logistics backbone that efficiently connects farmers to the market.
These Indian-imported vehicles are meant to support the operations of Red and White Cooperatives (Koperasi Merah Putih), which is one of President Prabowo Subianto's priority programs. "Our pickup trucks are designed to work in harsh conditions while keeping operational costs to a minimum," he said, as quoted in a press release on the Mahindra website on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Gollagunta mentioned that the number of vehicles to be exported significantly improves Mahindra's operations in international markets and adds to the export volume achieved in 2025. The collaboration with Agrinas Pangan is seen as a commitment to supporting national priorities.
According to the Mahindra website, the Scorpio is produced in Nashik, India, and is globally recognized for its durability, load capacity, and low operational costs. With these claims, the vehicle is considered suitable for meeting logistical needs through rough rural roads to agricultural routes.
The Chief Executive Officer of PT Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, Joao Angelo De Sousa Mota, confirmed the procurement of these pickup trucks for Red and White Village Cooperatives. When contacted this Tuesday afternoon, he confirmed the arrival of complete vehicle units in Indonesia, but did not specify the number.
Agrinas is a government-appointed entity to establish Red and White Cooperatives. The government plans to establish around 80,000 cooperatives spread across Indonesia. The Red and White Cooperatives plan to build 30,000 units by mid-2026.
