TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's financial sector remained stable during the second quarter of 2026, according to Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, during a press conference following the third periodic meeting of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK) on Monday, August 3, 2026.

According to the minister, at the beginning of the period, external pressures intensified due to escalating geopolitical conflicts, energy price surges, global financial market volatility, and pressure on exchange rates.

"Nevertheless, the domestic economy continues to demonstrate resilience, reflected in solid economic growth and a stable financial sector," he said at the offices of the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) in Jakarta on Monday.

According to Purbaya, external risks to macroeconomic and financial system stability require continued vigilance. However, he added that the KSSK is committed to holding forward-looking assessment to current economic and financial sector performance.

KSSK comprises the Minister of Finance, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, the Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and the Chair of the Board of Commissioners of the LPS.

Purbaya projects that Indonesia's economy will continue on a strong trajectory in the second quarter of 2026, despite global economic challenges. He noted that public purchasing power remains stable, supported by the role of the State Budget acting as a shock absorber.

The state treasurer said KSSK member insitutions would continue to strenghten their policy synergy to maintain the momentum of growth.

"Through this policy synergy, economic growth in 2026 is projected to range between 5.6 percent and 6.0 percent year-on-year," Purbaya said.
