TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) recorded that 100,560 tickets had been sold for departures three and two days before Eid al-Fitr. KAI Vice President of Corporate Communications Anne Purba stated that the data was recorded as of Monday, February 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
"This figure shows that there is still an opportunity for the public to obtain travel tickets three and two days before Eid," she said in a written statement on Monday, February 2, 2026.
According to KAI data, ticket sales for departures three days before Eid, or March 18, 2026, have reached 50,627. Meanwhile, 49,933 tickets were sold two days before Eid, or March 19, 2026. Train ticket reservations for Eid al-Fitr have been on sale since Sunday, January 25, 2026.
Anne said that the 10 routes recorded the highest ticket sales:
1. Gambir – Semarang Tawang: 7,310 tickets
2. Gambir – Yogyakarta: 6,821 tickets
3. Gambir – Purwokerto: 4,650 tickets
4. Gambir – Surabaya Pasar Turi: 4,617 tickets
5. Pasarsenen – Kutoarjo: 4,235 tickets
6. Pasarsenen – Lempuyangan: 3,993 tickets
7. Pasarsenen – Purwokerto: 3,933 tickets
8. Gambir – Cirebon: 3,648 tickets
9. Pasarsenen – Surabaya Pasar Turi: 3,510 tickets
10. Pasarsenen – Kebumen: 3,161 tickets
Overall, she said Anne stated that regular train ticket sales for Eid al-Fitr for the departure period of March 11-19, 2026, had reached 320,465 tickets as of February 2, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time. Sales are expected to continue to increase as long as ticket sales continue according to the established schedule.
"We urge the public to plan their trips immediately and take advantage of the remaining ticket availability," said Anne.
Anne reminded the public to purchase tickets through official KAI channels such as Access by KAI, the kai.id website, and other authorized sales partners. Purchasing through unofficial parties, which may incur additional fees, is not recommended.
