TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, said more than 850,000 app-based motorcycle taxi and courier drivers will receive an Eid bonus in 2026, with a total allocation of Rp220 billion (around US$ equivalent pending exchange rate).
“The 2026 Eid Bonus (BHR) will be distributed to more than 850,000 partner drivers, with a total budget of Rp220 billion,” Airlangga said at a press conference at his office in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
He urged ride-hailing and delivery platform companies to disburse the bonus no later than seven days before Eid al-Fitr.
According to Airlangga, active two-wheeled drivers are expected to receive approximately Rp150,000 each, while four-wheeled drivers will receive around Rp200,000 per person.
At the same event, Manpower Minister Yassierli said the religious holiday bonus will be paid in cash, with a minimum amount equivalent to 25 percent of a driver’s average net income over the past 12 months.
Yassierli stressed that platform companies must ensure transparency in calculating and informing drivers and couriers of the bonus amount.
The benefit applies to drivers and couriers who have been officially registered with app-based companies over the past year. Payment must be made at least seven days before Eid al-Fitr, although the government encouraged companies to distribute the funds earlier where possible.
