TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Major General (Ret) Prihati Pujowaskito as the President Director of Indonesia’s Health Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) for the 2026-2031 period. The retired military official replaces Ali Ghufron Mukti, who held the position since February 2021.
Quoting a press release from BPJS Kesehatan, the appointment was made through Presidential Decree Number 17/P of 2026 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of the Board of Supervisors and Membership of the Directorate of BPJS Kesehatan.
"This appointment is part of the strengthening of governance and the continuity of the National Health Insurance Program (JKN)," BPJS Kesehatan stated in its announcement on Thursday, February 19, 2026.
In addition to appointing Prihati as the new president director of BPJS Kesehatan, Prabowo appointed seven other individuals as directors. They are Abdi Kurniawan Purba, Akmal Budi Yulianto, Bayu Teja Muliawan, Fatih Waluyo Wahid, Setiaji, Vetty Yulianty Permanasari, and Sutopo Patria Jati.
