TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto will officially open the 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) of the Central and Regional Governments, held by the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Sentul International Convention Center (SICC), Bogor Regency, West Java, on Monday, February 2, 2026.

Head of the Ministry of Home Affairs Information Center, Benni Irwan, stated that in addition to opening the event, President Prabowo will provide guidance to the participating regional heads. The head of state will also present an evaluation of the government's performance during 2025.

"These guidance will also include strategies for improving performance in 2026," said Benni in an official statement on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Benni stated that this forum is the Ministry of Home Affairs' effort to strengthen synergy between the central and regional governments. The aim is to provide guidance to all regional heads, along with elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) and other stakeholders. This directive is primarily intended to support the implementation of the President's priority programs toward Golden Indonesia 2045.

"To accelerate the success of the President's priority programs to realize food and energy sovereignty, as well as a productive and inclusive economy by achieving the 8 percent economic growth target," said Benni.

According to Benni, regional heads and the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) play a crucial role in ensuring the successful achievement of the President's priority program targets. They are the main driving force behind governance, community empowerment, and regional development. "Therefore, the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) serves as a means to build a common understanding, strengthen coordination, and synergize central and regional policy measures."

At the forum, the Ministry of Home Affairs will present members of the Red and White Cabinet, from coordinating ministers and ministers to heads of state institutions, including members of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri), as speakers, divided into several thematic sessions. Each session will discuss various topics, such as synergy between economic and energy policies, sustainable food sovereignty, and other strategic issues.

The National Coordination Meeting is expected to be attended by approximately 4,487 participants. They comprised leaders of ministries/institutions, governors, regents, and mayors, leaders of the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), and members of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) from across Indonesia.

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto appealed to the public to anticipate potential traffic congestion around the SICC due to this national coordination meeting.

Therefore, he said, the government apologized and urged the public to adjust their travel plans. "We apologize (to residents who may be affected) and urge residents to adjust their travel times and routes during the event," he said in a written statement on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Bima stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs, together with the Bogor Regency Government and relevant authorities, have prepared traffic arrangements to ensure smooth public mobility. He stated that joint security personnel from various agencies will be deployed to regulate traffic and minimize congestion today.

"(There will be) additional personnel, including personnel from the police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), and the Transportation Agency (Dishub) at certain points," said the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs.
