TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the brother of King Charles III formerly known as Prince Andrew, has reportedly vacated his residence at Royal Lodge, Windsor. According to CBS News, Andrew is now staying at Sandringham, a private estate owned by King Charles in Norfolk, eastern England. The move was announced by Buckingham Palace last October and was initially scheduled to take place in early 2026.
Although there has been no further official statement from the royal family, as of Wednesday morning local time, Andrew has established himself at Sandringham. This move occurred discreetly, just days after the U.S. Department of Justice released approximately three million additional documents and photos related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Contents of Documents and Lawyer's Letters
The documents released by the U.S. government revealed several previously unknown contacts between Andrew and Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died in 2019. One critical file is a 2011 letter from the lawyer of an "exotic dancer" who passed away in 2020.
The letter mentions that Epstein and Andrew asked their client to "engage in various sex acts" at a party involving "other young women dressed provocatively," some of whom "appeared to be as young as 14 years old." The lawyer wrote, "Mr. Epstein and Prince Andrew then told my client they wanted to have a threesome."
Following the incident, the woman was offered a trip to the Virgin Islands but declined. She was subsequently escorted back to the club where she worked. The letter also mentions that the client was not paid as promised and later agreed to keep the "interactions" private in exchange for US$250,000.
Released Emails and Photos
Other files contain a 2010 exchange of emails between Andrew and Epstein. In one email, Epstein offered to have dinner with several women. Andrew responded, "Bring them all. So as to add some life."
The U.S. Department of Justice also released several photos showing Andrew with an unidentified woman whose face is not visible. The identity of the woman, as well as the time and location of the photos, remains unknown.
According to reports, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer urged Mountbatten-Windsor to cooperate with U.S. authorities regarding his relationship with Epstein. He added that anyone with information should be willing to provide it in whatever form is requested.
Andrew missed the deadline for a written interview with the U.S. House Oversight Committee in November. In 2019, he was sued in a civil case by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein's accusers, but he denied all allegations. To date, he has not been charged in the UK or the U.S. and was stripped of his royal titles last October.
