TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Google Indonesia, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) are collaborating to maximize navigation to support Eid homecoming exodus. Strategic Partner Development Manager of Geo and Search at Google, Richard Darsono, stated that the Google Maps application will provide visualization and supporting information, including toll fee estimates, road closures, offline maps, and schedules for public transportation such as buses and trains.
"In addition, we are also collaborating with the Traffic Corps of the Indonesian National Police (Korlantas Polri) and Jasa Marga to update rest areas, police posts, mosques, and other important points," he said after a coordination meeting in Jakarta on Thursday, February 12, 2026.
This collaboration was agreed upon during the 2026 Eid homecoming coordination meeting held today. Previously, the collaboration has been ongoing for five years to provide accurate route and traffic information for the public.
Corporate Communication and Community Development Group Head of Jasa Marga, Lisye Octaviana, stated that Google Maps will improve the navigation capabilities of Jasa Marga's Travoy application. From a monitoring perspective, the Travoy system has access to 3,500 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras located along several toll road sections.
Furthermore, Lisye said that the public can obtain information about facilities along the toll roads and rest areas, including the facilities within them. "We have also added other facilities, such as Gas Stations (SPBU) and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU)," she said.
On this year's Eid homecoming exodus, Jasa Marga estimates that around 3.67 million vehicles will pass through the toll roads. Meanwhile, the return exodus is estimated to reach 3.54 million vehicle units.
Police Senior Commissioner Renaldi Oktavian, the Head of the Traffic Control Sub-Division of the Police Operations Division, stated that the police will contribute to traffic engineering management for Google. This information must reach the public so that they have references or options to plan their travels.
According to Renaldi, this year there will be several additional crucial points, and several operational toll roads will also be displayed on Google Maps. "So later on, the public can have route options to use during the exodus," he said.
Jasa Marga has prepared four operational toll road sections, including Jakarta-Cikampek II South, covering a length of 54.75 kilometers (out of a total of 62 kilometers), Jogja-Bawen, covering a length of 4.98 kilometers (out of a total of 75.82 kilometers), Jogja-Solo, covering a length of 11.48 kilometers (out of a total of 96.57 kilometers), and Probolinggo-Banyuwangi, covering a length of 49.68 kilometers. All of these operational toll roads will be toll-free.
