TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa and the House of Representatives (DPR) have initiated discussions on the 2027 State Budget in a closed-door meeting at the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.
Chair of Commission XI of the DPR, Mukhamad Misbakhun, said the meeting was conducted using the mechanism stipulated in Article 35 of BPK Law Number 15 of 2006. "We are conducting our own discussion rounds, and the decisions will later become part of the State Budget," he said after the meeting.
Misbakhun explained that this meeting is part of the institutional-level budget planning cycle. The results of this internal discussion will be brought to the discussion on the Macro-Economic Framework and the Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF) between the government and the parliament.
He mentioned that this discussion has actually entered the second round. Earlier, Commission XI had held internal meetings in January and February 2026 to finalize proposals.
The National Planning Agency (Bappenas), the Ministry of Finance, and BPK are planned to reach an agreement about the budget in March. "After, there will be separate consultation meetings between DPR and BPK," said Misbakhun.
The consultation meeting today started around 3:00 p.m. and ended around 5:00 p.m. Lawmakers present in the meeting include leaders and members of Commission XI as well as several members of the DPR's financial committee (Banggar).
Meanwhile, Purbaya was accompanied by two of his subordinates, namely the Director General of Treasury, Astera Primanto Bhakti, and the Director General of Budget, Luky Alfirman. Also present were Bappenas representatives.
