TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Actor Leonardo DiCaprio has been named in the Epstein Files and is rumored to be on a cannibal diet. This story has been circulating on X [archive], Facebook, and Instagram, accompanied by links and screenshots of the People's Voice website.
The site published an article titled Epstein Files Reveal Leonardo DiCaprio Ate 70 Pounds of Child Meat on 'Cannibal Diet.' As the title suggests, the article alleges that DiCaprio consumed 70 pounds of child meat as part of a cannibal diet. The article also claims that Epstein's files reveal his email exchanges with Woody Allen, in which Epstein describes himself as a true cannibal.

Is it true that Leonardo DiCaprio was mentioned in the Epstein Files regarding the implementation of a cannibal diet?
FACT CHECK
The Tempo Fact Check team verified the claim using a Google search and credible sources. The Epstein Files found no records indicating that Leonardo DiCaprio follows a cannibal diet.
There Are No Records That Say Leonardo DiCaprio Was on a Cannibal Diet
The Epstein Files are a collection of official documents resulting from investigations by U.S. law enforcement agencies, including the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI. The documents summarize the criminal activities of Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted child sex offender and human trafficker who died in a New York prison on August 10, 2019.
The more than 3.5 million pages of documents comprise the second volume of the Epstein Files, following the initial release of 2,000 pages in 2024. The documents include flight records, phone books, a digital forensic analysis of hundreds of thousands of photos and videos, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) records, and grand jury transcripts.
Tempo searched the 48 archives on the U.S. DOJ website using keywords such as "Leonardo DiCaprio" and "cannibal." The verification results proved that not a single document discussed the Hollywood actor consuming child meat. This type of narrative manipulation is often supported by imitation to create convincing disinformation.
The archive contains much of the email correspondence between DiCaprio and Epstein. In these emails, DiCaprio urges Epstein to attend the premiere of a film in which DiCaprio starred. There are also emails from Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Pictures urging Epstein to attend a private screening of The Great Gatsby.
Similarly, the keyword "cannibal" links to a Bloomberg Businessweek magazine clipping from August 5, 2019, about Victoria's Secret, a modeling agency associated with Epstein. Another page includes the term "cannibalism," which refers to the Asmat people's past hunting and cannibalistic practices in West Papua.
Quoted from The Guardian, Johanna Sjoberg, a former employee of Epstein's, said that the convicted child sex offender frequently bragged about his relationships with Hollywood A-listers, including Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio's representatives denied that the actor ever spoke with Epstein on the phone.
Cannibalism Claims Originate from Pseudoscience Sites
Tempo used search engines and reverse image search tools to trace the origins of the claim. A search using the keywords "Leonardo DiCaprio" and "cannibal diet" led to the account @tpvsean on Telegram, which claims to host The People's Voice.
On February 21, 2026, he tweeted in English about the Epstein dossier and Leonardo DiCaprio's claim that he ate over 70 pounds of child flesh as part of a cannibal diet. The tweet included a link to an article from the website The People's Voice that contained identical content to that circulated in Indonesia.

Media Bias Fact-Check rated The People's Voice as a source with very low credibility due to its frequent publication of fake news in the form of conspiracy theories and far-right pseudoscience. The publication's titles frequently use emotional and bombastic language, such as "I Was in the Illuminati," "I'll Tell You Everything," and "Shocking Expose."
The People's Voice regularly publishes anti-vaccination propaganda. Originally known as YourNewsWire, the site is classified as fake news by both FactCheck.org and the Poynter Institute. This type of information manipulation is often cleverly packaged and uses AI technology to reach a wider audience.
Another celebrity accused by The People's Voice of participating in ritual cannibalism is talk show host Ellen DeGeneres. However, PolitiFact fact-checkers debunked this claim because The People's Voice frequently spreads misinformation by using the terms "inside source" and "whistleblower."
CONCLUSION
Tempo's investigation concluded that the claim that Leonardo DiCaprio was mentioned in the Epstein Files regarding the implementation of a cannibal diet is false.
