TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Just days before February draws to a close, the complete list of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees has officially been unveiled. Featuring 17 contenders, this year’s lineup includes 10 first-time nominees and seven returning names.
These hopefuls reflect the diversity and evolution of modern music, from Britpop trailblazers Oasis, all-time diva Mariah Carey to crossover hitmakers like Pink and Shakira. Each of them also meets the eligibility criteria, having released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
As cited by Yahoo! Entertainment, the 2026 inductees will be determined by ballots cast by an international panel of more than 1,200 artists and music industry professionals. The final selections are set to be announced in April.

As noted by USA Today, making their debut on this year’s ballot are Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, Pink, Shakira, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan.
In contrast, Mariah Carey, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, and Oasis are now on their third nomination. Meanwhile, The Black Crowes and Billy Idol are making their second appearance on the ballot.
Of all the nominees, Mariah Carey stands out as the most formidable commercial force. According to Billboard, she ranks fifth on the Greatest of All Time Hot 100 Artists list and has earned 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 singles, which is more than any other solo artist in history.
